There is a need to make Government Services more citizens-friendly by harnessing new technology. Service delivery can improve if General Public has easy access to Government officials.
Farmers sometimes need urgent advice from Agricultural Extension Officers and Veterinary staff.
Parents can benefit if they can remain in touch with teachers about the school attendance and progress of their children.
Employees in the field can better implement policies and programmes if they are in constant touch with their superiors at headquarters.
Availability of mobile services can improve communication channels and make delivery of Government Services more efficient.
The employees will have to provide mobile number on which their superior or General Public can contact them for official work.
These numbers should be made available on the website of the concerned department. Those who have already been provided mobile facility, the present arrangements can continue.
In the case of Group A & B officers, it would be useful if the unutilized amount, if any, on their residential telephone is allowed to be adjusted against their higher utilization of the mobile services.
